President FRANK HEGYI was joined by our speaker, MARC BONAMO, HUGH O’GORMAN (Introduction) and BRENDA REISCH (Thanks). Rev. GEORGE CLIFFORD gave invocation.
OUR PROGRAM:
MARC BONAMO is from Ottawa. He has a degree in International Relations and has been with SOS Children’s Villages for 6 years. He showed a visual presentation about the organisation. It was founded in post-war Europe and opened in Canada in 1969. It operates in 132 countries where they build a village with each family of needy children living with a “mother”. Each village has a school and medical facilities. Emergency relief is provided when necessary, i.e. the Haiti earthquake.
ATTENDANCE: 15 members and 3 guests, MARC BONAMO, ROSE HEGYI and JULIA HEATHCOTE.
HEALTH OF THE CLUB: ABE BOOKMAN, a charter member, would welcome visitors at the Perley-Rideau Veterans Home, visitors should arrive after 1.00pm.
50/50 DRAW: KAREN GRAY had the winning ticket and drew the ace of Spades. The pot now stands at $554.00.
FINES and HAPPY DOLLARS: KIM CHADSY collected from SAM ZUNDER, FRANK GRAY JIM PUSKAS, JACQUES DALLAIRE, HUGH O’GORMAN, TED HEATHCOTE, FRANK HEGYI and ROY MCKAIN.

Each member to notify Kim Chadsey (preferably by e-mail or failing that, by phone) each time service is performed, specifying the nature of the work done and number of hours. Kim will be able to log your hours and issue a report to members at the end of the fiscal year.
