Kiwanis Music Festival ENCORE! 2011
Monday, August 29, 2011 at 07:04PM The second annual ENCORE! event, presented on behalf of the Kiwanis Music Festival is coming up on Sat., Oct 15.
ENCORE! highlights former participants in the Kiwanis Music Festival who have gone on to successful careers and this year our headliners are the Estabrooks brothers, Bryan and Jonathan who are both baritones of operatic calibre. But They bring a lot more, covering pop, cabaret and broadway material. They will be presenting a two-part show, the first half being a lIght-hearted look at the world of classical music and the second part will be cbaret style, accompanied by their own band.
Joining them will be Erinne-Coleen Laurin, a young soprano who dazzled everyone this year during the festival, walking away with top prizes. Her accompanist, Jean Desmaris is well known to all of us, both during the festival and as a performer with the NAC Orchestra and many other ensembles around the world.
But there's more: Your host and MC will be JIAN GOMESHI, host of Q on CBC Radio 1! Getting him to host the show is a real coup for the Kiwanis Music Festival.
A key objective of ENCORE! is to raise the profile of the Kiwanis Music Festival in our community, as well as hopefully raising a modest amount of money to help keep the festival going. But above all, it will be a great evening of entertainment!
